Ficus Lyrata
Like plants with big leaves? Ficus Lyrata, also known as 'Fiddle Leaf Fig', has large glossy pear (or fiddle) shaped leaves with contrasting veins, growing from a woody stem. If given the right lighting conditions, and pruned appropriately, this plant can grow up to 10ft indoors. Perfect for someone looking to fill a sunny corner with a statement plant that instantly brings a bohemian look to your indoor space.
Native to Central and West Africa, the Lyrata thrives in bright and humid conditions, but doesn't need lots of attention when it comes to watering, making it perfect for the serial underwaterer.
Propogating Ficus Lyrata is simple; take cuttings anywhere on the stem and place that new cutting in water and notice roots pushing out within a month. Expect new growth to push out around the recent cut, which will lead to a bushier plant.
