Microsorum Musifolium 'Crocodyllus'
The Microsorum Musifolium 'Crocodyllus' is nicknamed the 'Crocodile Fern' for good reason - the leaves look like they're made of scales! Unfurling from the centre (crown) of the plant, this fern displays long leaves with a texture similar to reptilian scales. Each 'scale' is highlighted by the contrast of the neon green leaf and the delicate black veins of the plant.
Native to the warm and humid regions of Southeast Asia and the Pacific Islands, this plant grows on trees and takes its nutrients from decomposing debris falling from above. To keep this plant at its happiest, never let the soil completely dry out, keep out of direct sun and avoid putting it near radiators or draughts. These are hungry plants, and definitely need fertilising reguarly. If you notice the leaves look lighter in colour, almost bleached, this is a sign of lack of nutrients and irregular watering.
