Monstera Obliqua 'Peru'
It wasn't that long ago when this plant was impossible to get a hold of, but now the Monstera Obliqua is easy to source and, due to tissue culture, easier to grow. Found growing in the tropical forests of Central and South America, this Monstera can be found climbing up other larger plants in source of light. The more mature this plants gets, the larger the leaves and fenestrations (splits and holes in leaves) become.
For this plant to thrive, you must give it support, resembling its climbing habitat in the wild. Direct light should be avoided, and only water when you know the top section of soil is completely dry. Once care is figured out, these are fairly easy to grow, but avoid growing near radiators or draughts as they can't handle temperature fluctuations or dry air.
Spindly and prehistoric looking, these make great additions to terrariums. This variety of Monstera has quite defined fenestrations, and if you're a fan of monsteras due to this feature, then there's no reason you won't love growing the Obliqua 'Peru'.
