Crassula Ovata 'Coral'
Crassula Ovata ‘Coral’, also known as the Coral Jade Plant or 'Shrek Ears', is a wonderfully weird and wavy succulent. Its tubular, finger-like leaves curve upward and inward like tiny green trumpets, with tips that can turn red with enough sunlight, giving it a coral reef look (as the name suggests).
Native to South Africa, this plant is pretty much as low-fuss as they come. It thrives in bright light, even full sun, and prefers the soil to dry out completely between waterings. Like most succulents, it stores water in its chunky leaves and doesn’t enjoy sitting in damp soil.
With its upright, branching form and sculptural shape, ‘Coral’ makes a fantastic feature plant for a sunny windowsill or desk. It’s also super easy to propagate, just break off a piece, let it callous, and pop it into soil.
