Peperomia Hope
Peperomia Hope is an adorable, trailing plant that can bring a soft, rounded charm to a shelf or hanging pot. A hybrid of two Peperomia species, this plant has plump, coin-like leaves that grow in neat pairs (sometimes in trios) along long, trailing stems. The leaves are a soft green with subtle ridges, and the stem a succulent ashy brown.
Although a hybrid, its two parent plants are native to Central and South America. Hope is a plant which loves bright, indirect light and doesn’t need much water. Let the soil dry out between waterings, and make sure it’s in a free-draining mix to avoid soggy roots.
This is a slow but steady grower that’s perfect for smaller spaces or spots that need a gentle cascade of greenery. If it outgrowns your space you can cut it back anywehre on the stem and propagate in water. Simply take the lower leaves off, wait for the stem to callous and place in water to root. With the leaves you removed, place in some soil, mist occasionally, and you'll soon get some baby plants growing!
