This is one of the first succulents that Louis and I really loved when getting into indoor gardening. It's hard not to love this plant as soon as you see it. There's something about its bunched and trailing growth structure and blue-green colour palette that scratches all the right parts of the brain. Then you see a mature one trailing in the arid rooms of the Princess of Wales Conservatory at Kew and you are even more in love, forever loyal to the species and determined to grow one that big yourself one day.

Although a lot of succulents are slow growing, once this Sedum reaches a certain size, it's growth is very noticeable. In one growing season, if given the right lighting and a good fertiliser, you will see it size up dramatically.

Once its stems are cascading over the pot, why not make it a feature in your sunniest windowsill? These look incredible as hanging plants in macrame hangers or in terracotta pots where the orange tones of the pot contrast beautifully with the blue hue of the plant.

Easy to care for, drought tolerant, a steady grower, a little bit weird looking, tolerant of extreme temperatures and pet safe are all features of this one plant.. making it plant of the month for obvious reasons! It's an absolute joy to grow! This will continue to be a favourite of ours forever, you can fight us, we're not budging on this one.
