More popularly known as 'String of Hearts', the Ceropegia Woodii is a trailing succulent with delicate, heart-shaped leaves that are a greyish green with purple hues. When mature, these succulent plants display purple trumpet-like flowers that look alien in nature.

Native to South Africa, this plant is a creeper/crawler, growing dense like a carpet covering the ground. Indoors, it is a perfect trailing plant and works great on a high shelf in a sunny room. We recommend the Woodii to anyone looking for a plant that doesn't need a lot of attention. Once established, these will grow like a weed, and are very easy to propagate from, either in water or planting the vines straight on top of the soil.

How to care for Ceropegia Woodii

  • Lighting: Bright to direct sun, avoid low light areas. East and South facing windows are best.
  • Watering: Only water once the soil is completely dry.
  • Humidity: Doesn't need any boost of humidity. Tolerant of average household humidity and drier.
  • Temperature: Although thrives in temperatures around 18-26°C, can tolerate as cold as 10°C, but only for short periods.
  • Soil Preference: Something very loose and well draining. We recommend the Cacti & Succulent mix.
  • Good to Know: Ceropegia have a shallow root system, so avoid potting in deep pots.
