Aeschynanthus 'Pink Polka'
Named ‘Pink Polka’, these plants produce pastel pink blooms which hang from cascading succulent vines. A perfect trailer for a sunny spot!
Aeschynanthus are often nicknamed ‘Lipstick plants’ due to their flowers, which bloom in two parts, resembling lipsticks! The base bell-shaped flower grows in a dusty pink colour, and out from that pops a baby pink tubular flower. They grow in clusters, typically at the end of a vine.
Aescynanthus ‘Pink Polka’ prefers bright, filtered light, and although it can tolerate it if it is gentle, it’s best kept out of direct sun. Water when the pot is roughly half way dry, never letting the pot fully dry out. These plants do best in higher humidity, but are tolerant of average home conditions, as long as they’re kept away from radiators. Aim to keep it between 18–24°C and avoid drops below 10°C. For soil, we recommend a chunky yet moisture-retentive blend, like our Anthurium & Orchid mix, which replicates how it would grow epiphytically in the wild.
