Alocasia 'Venom'
The 'Venom' is a rare Alocasia, collected for its unusual appearance. Leathery leaves, with frilled edges, emerge from patterned stems, boasting deep green with purple undersides and raised silver venation. The silver veins blur into the main body of the leaf, which ends in a long dramatic point. Like an Alien, a deep sea creature and a ghost all somehow had a plant baby together.
The 'Venom' has an interesting backstory, as it was only found recently (2019 to be exact). It is a spontaneous mutation of an already hybridised Alocasia, the Alocasia 'Amazonica', so you won't find it in the wild.
We would not recommend the 'Venom' as a suitable introduction to the Alocasia genus, as they can feel complicated if you're new to plants.
