Calathea Leopardina
Although Calathea can be somewhat of a diva genus, the Calathea Leopardina is an easy-going, moisture-loving plant, that is a joy to grow. Displaying lime green, pointed oval leaves with dark green markings this is an elegant addition to any collection. The leaf pattern, although understated compared to most Calatheas, will definitely stand out amoungst others.
Native to the tropical regions of South America, this plant likes it humid and benefits from a moisture retentive soil. Make sure to keep it away from radiators or draughts, as well as direct sun. The Leopardina will grow tall and bushy if cared for correctly, and may even push out some yellow flowers at the base once the plant is more developed.
Perfect for those who love pattern and texture in their houseplant collection, but aren't too bothered about colour. It is also a great gift idea for a keen indoor gardener.
