The Hoya Globulosa, is a shiny and hairy Hoya native to the tropical regions of the Himalayas and South East Asia. This is a great choice for collectors who like texture and defined venation.

Thick fuzzy stems grow upwards, producing robust glossy leaves, dark green in colour with darker veins running throughout. These leaves are also covered in fine hairs, which make their undersides feel like you're stroking the delicate ears of a cat!

Unlike some of the thirstier Hoyas (like the Linearis or Bella), the Globulosa prefers to sit dry for a little before you give it a big drink again. However, it still enjoys lots of light, and will thrive near a sunny window.

How to care for Hoya Globulosa

  • Lighting: Bright, indirect light is best, with a couple hours of gentle direct sun for more splashing on leaves. East or West facing windowsills, near South-facing, or under grow lights.
  • Watering: Water once soil has dried.
  • Humidity: Thrives in humidity of 50% above, but can tolerate average household humidity.
  • Temperature: Ideal temperatures range between 18-26°C. Avoid temperatures of 12°C or below.
  • Soil Preference: To suit their epiphytic nature, Hoyas need a loose and chunky mix. We recommend the Anthurium & Orchid mix.
  • Good to Know: There are several varieties of Globulosa that vary in leaf shape and size. If you have any questions about identifying these Hoyas, please let us know.

How We Care For Our Plants

Here at The Watered Garden, we treat every plant like it’s part of our own collection at home. While in our care, each plant gets daily spot checks, the right amount of watering, and continuous monitoring for any pests or diseases. We clean leaves, repot when necessary, and make sure they’re in perfect shape before they reach you. It’s our way of ensuring that every plant you bring home is happy, healthy, and will continue to be that way for years to come.
