Native to the northern regions of South America, hails this small yet striking Peperomia. Known most commonly as the Watermelon Peperomia due to the contrasted green and silver striped detailing on the leaves, this plant is sure to stand out wherever you place it.

Peperomias are petite plants, which grow on the forest floor in dappled light. The Argyreia grown indoors will reach heights of up to 30cm, with the leaves reaching sizes of 12cm. We think this makes the watermelon peperomia a great table top or windowsill plant, as it won't outgrow its spot. Due to where it grows in the wild, it is a plant suited to lower light levels. Anything too dark will cause leaves to drop, so make sure it’s still receiving some bright light, but nothing too harsh as this will scorch the leaves. Peperomias are compact and semi-succulent, meaning they can tolerate a little dry period before watering again, and can rot easily if overwatered. Keep away from draughts and radiators as they like it humid.
