Plerandra Elegantissima
The Plerandra Elegantissima, also known as the False Aralia, is a dainty plant, which still packs a punch, thanks to it's unusual foliage. Growing from patterned stems, this plant produces long thin leaves which are almost black in colour with toothed edges. The leaves are palmate, meaning each leaf is made up of multiple smaller leaves. En masse, these look like a cluster of fireworks.
Native to New Caledonia, the Plerandra likes lots of light and lots of humidity, but the soil needs to dry out before it can be watered again.
Indoors, this plant can reach heights of 2 metres, making it the perfect choice for a floor plant in a bright spot where you want to add some life but don't want anything too dense or heavy. A beautiful, minimal plant which is sure to add intrigue to any space.
