Monstera Siltepecana
Monstera Siltepecana is a bit of a hidden gem in the Monstera family, not as famous as some of its siblings, this plant is delicate, elegant, and a favourite in the shop. Its narrow, elongated leaves are a soft silver-green with dark veins running through, giving it a mystical look. As it matures, it can even develop subtle fenestrations (not as extreme as its relative the Deliciosa), but we love it just as much in its juvenile form.
Native to the tropical forests of Mexico and Central America, this Monstera is a natural climber. Give it a moss pole or let it trail from a pot, either way, it’s a fast grower that is really rewarding once it gets going. Bright, indirect light is ideal, and it prefers the soil to stay lightly moist. It’ll appreciate a bit of extra humidity too, especially in drier homes.
Siltepecana’s silvery sheen makes it a lovely contrast to darker foliage, and its growth habit will give dimension to any space, without completely dominating.
