Fittonia Albivenis, also known as the Nerve Plant, is a plant that we adore here at The Watered Garden. With deeply veined leaves that look like they’ve been painted with a fine brush, this plant comes in shades of green, pink, red, or white. It's compact, colourful, and has a beautiful texture.

Native to the tropical rainforests of South America, Fittonia thrives in humid environments and low to medium light - making it an absolute favourite for terrariums. In fact, we pop them in ours all the time! The high humidity helps keep those patterned leaves perky, and the slow, bushy growth fills out the glassware beautifully.

Outside of a terrarium, you’ll want to keep the soil consistently moist (but not soggy), and avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch the leaves. If it suddenly flops over, don’t worry, it’s just having a moment, a drink usually perks it right back up.

How We Care For Our Plants

Here at The Watered Garden, we treat every plant like it’s part of our own collection at home. While in our care, each plant gets daily spot checks, the right amount of watering, and continuous monitoring for any pests or diseases. We clean leaves, repot when necessary, and make sure they’re in perfect shape before they reach you. It’s our way of ensuring that every plant you bring home is happy, healthy, and will continue to be that way for years to come.
