Maranta Leuconeura 'Lemon Lime'
The Lemon Lime Maranta is a stand out houseplant when it comes to striking foiliage. Dark green oval leaves covered in lime green stripes and blotches, make the plant look like it's glowing from within.
Native to the tropical rainforests of Brazil, this Maranta would spread along the ground, growing in clusters, crawling along the floor. Indoors, it makes a brilliant hanging plant, trailing like steps, spreading outwards as well as downwards. To ensure this plant thrives, keep it out of direct sun and away from radiators or draughts. This is a moisture loving plant, and will produce crispy leaf tips when left dry for too long.
Marantas are part of a group of plants nicknamed 'Prayer plants', which is in reference to a funky little feature that these plants share. You may notice at night, these plants turn their leaves up, like they're going to bed, and open them back up in the morning, like they are waking back up! How wonderful!
