Native to the tropical forests of Southeast Asia, Scindapsus Pictus ‘Argyraeus’ is a trailing or climbing aroid that thrives in bright, indirect light. Commonly known as the Satin Pothos for its soft and shimmery foliage, this plant is forgiving with watering and easy to care for, making it a great pick for beginners or those who want something beautiful without the fuss.

This Pothos will trail gently from shelves or hanging pots and also looks gorgeous climbing up a moss pole. It's definitely a favourite here at The Watered Garden, and is always an easy recommendation.

How to care for Scindapsus Pictus 'Argyraeus'

  • Lighting: Bright light is best, but can tolerate lower light. Avoid direct sun. North or near an East or West facing window suits.
  • Watering: Water once top few inches of soil are dry. Very forgiving of under watering.
  • Humidity: Can tolerate all humidity levels, but average household humidity will suit.
  • Temperature: Temperatures of 18-24°C are best, but can tolerate short periods of colder temperatures.
  • Soil Preference: A loose and airy mixture to support the thick root system. We recommend the Monstera & Philodendron mix.
  • Good to Know: Leaves curl inwards when plant is thirsty. This can also happen if the plant has been overwatered and is suffering from root rot. When you see the leaves start to curl, always check the top soil is dry before watering.
