A classic houseplant for a reason, the Maranta Leuconeura 'Fascinator' will bring colour, pattern, texture and movement to any space. The Fascinator displays oval leaves detailed with dark green and lime blotches, with dark pink stripes on top. A truly striking plant, and a perfect example of the wonder of nature. This trailing plant is native to the tropical rainforests of Brazil, where it spreads along the forest floor, carpeting the forest with colour and stripes. When indoors, this plant makes a great plant for a shelf or plant hanger.

Marantas are part of a group of plants nicknamed 'Prayer plants', which is in reference to a funky little feature that these plants share. You may notice at night, these plants turn their leaves up, like they're going to bed, and open them back up in the morning, like they are waking back up! How wonderful!

How to care for Maranta Leuconeura 'Fascinator'

  • Lighting: Bright, indirect light to bright shade. Avoid direct sun.
  • Watering: Keep moisture consistent by watering when top layer of soil has dried.
  • Humidity: Prefers 50% and above. Avoid placing near radiators and draughts.
  • Temperature: In the range of 18-24°C is best. Avoid temperatures below 15°C.
  • Soil Preference: A moisture retentive mix that supports fine root systems. We recommend the Calathea & Maranta mix.
  • Good to Know: Marantas are very easy to propagate in water. Cut below the 'knuckles' on the main stem. Some may already have aerial roots ready to go.

While in our care, each plant gets daily spot checks, the right amount of watering, and continuous monitoring for any pests or diseases. We clean leaves, repot when necessary, and make sure they’re in perfect shape before they reach you. It’s our way of ensuring that every plant you bring home is happy, healthy, and will continue to be that way for years to come.
