Spathiphyllum 'Pearl Cupido'
More commonly known as the 'Peace Lily', the Spathiphyllum is a houseplant classic and for good reason. Although it's a little bit of a diva with its dramatic drooping, this is a very useful visual cue for when the plant is thirsty, which means its great for beginners wanting an active plant to learn how to identify the care needs of your new green friend. It also flowers (which resemble white flags, giving it its nickname), and is one of the top houseplants for air purification.
Originating from South America, particularly in Colombia and Venezuela, this plant is used to the dappled light of a crowded canopy and the warm humidity of the tropical rainforest. Indoors, avoid direct sun, placing away from a window or by a north-facing one, water when it starts to droop, and avoid places where the air is dry and cold.
There's a reason this houseplant has been so popular for such a long time. Great for beginners and those experienced growers alike.
