Pilea Cadierei, more commonly known as the Aluminium Plant, is a shiny little showstopper that’s sure to catch your eye. Its deep green leaves are marked with raised, silvery streaks, like someone’s brushed metallic paint across them. The result? A striking, almost futuristic look that still feels right at home in any plant collection.

Originally from the tropical forests of Vietnam, this plant likes bright, indirect light and regular watering, just keep the soil slightly moist and avoid letting it dry out completely. It enjoys humidity too, so a mist every now and then won’t go amiss.

Pilea Cadierei’s compact size and love of humidity means it works well in terrariums, especially where you want a splash of texture and shimmer. It’s a bit of a favourite at The Watered Garden, and honestly, we get it!
