The Alocasia 'Jacklyn' is a favourite in the shop. The shape, the texture, the patterning.. everything is dialled up to the max, including the stems! The 'Jacklyn' boasts bright green leaves with green black, swirling venation. The leaf shape is very unusual, with deep lobes on arrow-shaped leaves. The stems are thick and long with a purple and black splotching. This plant is already doing too much, but if that's not enough for you, then perhaps the velcro texture of the leaves with intrigue you.

This striking Alocasia is native to Indonesia, where it grows in warm and humid climates, in bright dappled light. When growing the 'Jacklyn' indoors, it is important to keep it out of direct sun as this can scorch the leaves. Alocasias are thirsty plants but are also prone to rotting if overwatered, so it is important to allow the top soil to dry out before watering. We also recommend a soil or substrate which is both airy and moisture retentive, like an Alocasia specific soil, or Semi-Hydro.
