Anthurium Crystallinum is a truly striking plant, known for its large, velvety leaves and bright, contrasting veins. The deep green heart shaped leaves have a soft texture and an almost metallic shimmer, making this a real standout in any collection. If that wasn't enough, the new growth comes out a bright raspberry red colour.

Native to the tropical forests of Central and South America, it enjoys bright, indirect light, warm temperatures and a bit of extra humidity. It’s a bit more of a high care plant compared to others, but well worth the effort if you’re looking for something special.

A beautiful option for plant lovers who enjoy growing something a little more unusual. If you're wanting to get into Anthuriums but don't know where to start, the Crystallinum is a great choice, as it is one of the most easy-going in the genus.

How to care for Anthurium Crystallinum

  • Lighting: Enjoys bright, filtered light. East or West facing windows are best, they do brilliantly under grow lights. Direct sun will scorch the leaves.
  • Watering: Doesn't like waterlogged soil, but enjoys consistent moisture. Water thoroughly once half the pot has dried out.
  • Humidity: Enjoys high humidity, will thrive best in greenhouse or terrarium conditions, but can grow happily in regular household humidity. Avoid radiators and draughts.
  • Temperature: Warmer temperatures will lead to larger leaves. Will thrive best in temperatures ranging from 18-27°C.
  • Soil Preference: An airy and chunky mix to suit the Anthuriums' thick roots. We recommend the Anthurium & Orchid mix.
  • Good to Know: Due to the thick roots, Anthuriums benefit from regular repotting.

How We Care For Our Plants

Here at The Watered Garden, we treat every plant like it’s part of our own collection at home. While in our care, each plant gets daily spot checks, the right amount of watering, and continuous monitoring for any pests or diseases. We clean leaves, repot when necessary, and make sure they’re in perfect shape before they reach you. It’s our way of ensuring that every plant you bring home is happy, healthy, and will continue to be that way for years to come.
