Anthurium Queremalense makes for a brilliant addition to your collection if you like long, large leaves. The deep green, elongated leaves feel like a mix of velvet and leather with gentle shimmer and bright veins. Compared to other anthuriums, the veins on these leaves are quite understated, but still contrast beautifully with the leaves.

Native to the cloud forests of Columbia where it grows as an epiphyte, the Queremalense enjoys bright, indirect light, warm temperatures and high humidity. If regularly fed and provided with high humidity, this plant can size up quickly.

A beautiful option for plant lovers who enjoy growing something a little more unusual. It’s a bit more of a high care plant compared to others, but well worth the effort if you’re looking for something special.

How to care for Anthurium Queremalense

  • Lighting: Enjoys bright, filtered light. East or West facing windows are best, they do brilliantly under grow lights. Direct sun will scorch the leaves.
  • Watering: Doesn't like waterlogged soil, but enjoys consistent moisture. Water thoroughly once half the pot has dried out.
  • Humidity: Enjoys high humidity, will thrive best in greenhouse or terrarium conditions. Avoid radiators and draughts.
  • Temperature: Warmer temperatures will lead to larger leaves. Will thrive best in temperatures ranging from 21-27°C. Avoid temperatures of 15°C and below.
  • Soil Preference: An airy and chunky mix to suit the Anthuriums' thick roots. We recommend the Anthurium & Orchid mix.
  • Good to Know: Due to its epiphytic nature, this Anthurium would benefit from growing up a live moss pole.

How We Care For Our Plants

Here at The Watered Garden, we treat every plant like it’s part of our own collection at home. While in our care, each plant gets daily spot checks, the right amount of watering, and continuous monitoring for any pests or diseases. We clean leaves, repot when necessary, and make sure they’re in perfect shape before they reach you. It’s our way of ensuring that every plant you bring home is happy, healthy, and will continue to be that way for years to come.
