This Anthurium is a very special hybrid cultivar (one you would not find in the wild), which is celebrated for its deep red hue on emerging leaves. Like a regular Crystallinum, this Red Crystallinum boasts thick, velvety leaves, strong vein definition and fairly straight forward care. Leaves can grow up to 50cm in length/width, if provided with consistent feed, warmth, air flow and humidity.

How to care for Anthurium Red Crystallinum

  • Lighting: Enjoys bright, filtered light. Near East or West facing windows are suitable and they do brilliantly under grow lights. Direct sun will scorch the leaves.
  • Watering: Doesn't like waterlogged soil, but enjoys consistent moisture. Water thoroughly once the top third of the pot has dried out.
  • Humidity: Enjoys high humidity, will thrive best in greenhouse or terrarium conditions. Avoid radiators and draughts.
  • Temperature: Warmer temperatures will lead to larger leaves. Will thrive best in temperatures ranging from 18-27°C.
  • Soil Preference: An airy and chunky mix to suit the Anthuriums' thick roots. We recommend the Anthurium & Orchid mix.
  • Good to Know: Due to the thick roots, Anthuriums benefit from regular repotting. This, alongside regular feeding (plus a boost of CalMag), will encourage your Anthuriums to size up significantly.

It’s our way of ensuring that every plant you bring home is happy, healthy, and will continue to be that way for years to come.
