Anthurium Vietchii
The Anthurium Vietchii, is often referred to as the 'King Anthurium', and with good reason. This plant produces large pendulous leaves, that display deep, rippled veining which give it a distinct and unusual appearance. Unfurling as a deep bronze colour before hardening off to green, the Vietchii's leaves can grow to be several feet long.
Native to the cloud forests of Columbia, this plant grows on other plants as opposed to in the soil. It enjoys high humidity and dappled shade. Watering must be consistent and soil must be loose to avoid root rot.
Slow growing and easy going, this Anthurium is perfect as a houseplant and remains fairly manageable considering its potential size. If you want to expand your collection and are looking for more unusual plants to grow, this is a perfect choice. With its potential to grow huge alien leaves, this plant will really make an impact in your home.
