Calathea Warscewiczii
Perhaps a nightmare to say or spell, but never a nightmare to look at or touch. This is one of the most glamorous Calatheas out there, with a rich colour palette, striking leaf pattern and the softest, velvety texture. However, all this beauty does come at a cost, and we would not recommend this plant to beginners.
Native to Central America, this Calathea is like any other; it loves humidity, warmth, moisture and dappled light. We find that growing this indoors is trickier than other prayer plants, and we often grow these best in very low light where we never let the air get dry or cold. We highly advise this plant is watered with filtered, rain or dechlorinated water, as the Warscewiczii really struggles to process the chemicals in our tap water, which often leads to leaf burn and crisping.
If you accept the challenge of growing this diva you will be rewarded with some of the most beautiful leaves you ever laid your eyes on.
