Drosera Capensis 'Alba'
Drosera Capensis: The perfect natural Fungus Gnat killer.
Drosera Capensis, also known as the Cape Sundew, is a carnivorous plant which produces hairs covered in a sticky, dew-like substance on the edges of its leaves to catch its prey. Once a fly has landed on its leaves, it is stuck. The leaves slowly wrap around the prey and absorb its nutrients. This is an adaptation formed to get nutrients to the plant, where the soil is too acidic and of poor quality to do so.
Native to the Cape region of South Africa, the 'Alba' is a variety which produces small, white flowers on stems which tower over the main plant. To ensure these plants thrive in your care, always water with rainwater, distilled, or reverse osmosis water. Place your Drosera in a deep tray or saucer and keep it topped up with water at all times. Sundews like it very sunny and very boggy, so make sure it is also placed in a bright and sunny window.
