Lepismium Bolivianum
Lepismium Bolivianum is a jungle cactus, found growing from rocks and trees in the forests of Bolivia. It is often nicknamed the 'forest cactus' for this reason. Displaying long, strappy and fleshy leaves, that fan outwards and trail down, this is the perfect plant to bring the rainforest into your home.
Although it is part of the Cactus familiy, it is not to be treated like its desert cousins (and doesn't have spikes!). In fact this cactus likes humidity, doesn't need direct sun, and prefers more regular waterings. We reccomend placing this plant near a sunny window to encourage quicker growth. If cared for correctly, come late Spring / early Summer, you should expect to see small white or pink flowers decorating the sides of the leaves.
You can cut anywhere on these leaves and plant that cutting into soil to start a new plant. Make sure to keep the soil lightly moist whilst the cutting is rooting. After a couple weeks try gently pulling on the leaf; if you feel resistance, then you know it's rooted!
