Medinilla Magnifica 'Candy'
The Medinilla Magnifica, also known as 'Rose Grape' or 'Philippine Orchid', is a flowering epiphyte originating from The Philippines. This plant displays thick and glossy, dark green leaves, with prominent veins. In the spring and summer, this plant produces large pink blooms which, as they develop, become layered and cascade down from the main plant - they remind us of chandeliers!
To keep the Medinilla happy, try to recreate its natural habitat of high humidity and consistent warmth. These grow on trees half way up the canopy, so indoors, they would appreciate quite a lot of bright light, but no direct sun. Make sure to keep the Medinilla consistently moist - they may drop their flowers if left to dry out for too long!
The Magnifica is called that for a reason! Perfect for anyone in need of a pop of colour, or for those who love the flamboyant and fabulous, this is bound to get attention wherever you place it in your home. We think these plants look best when placed in antiqued and classical planters. Green and blue glazes really make the blooms stand out!
