The Monstera Thai Constellation ticks a lot of boxes when it comes to what people want in a houseplant: big leathery leaves, variegation, an easy going care routine.. It's a truly brilliant plant.

This variety produces large, heart-shaped leaves that can grow up to a metre wide, perfect for anyone craving a statement plant. Each leaf is adorned with creamy, speckled variegation that appears slightly differently every time (and sometimes even throws up a splash of mint). Unlike the classic ‘Albo’, the variegation on the Thai Constellation is stable and won’t revert to plain green if the plant is stressed.

While Monsteras are native to Central America, the Thai Constellation isn’t naturally occurring, it was developed through tissue culture in Thailand. This process makes it more resilient and ensures it carries many of the best traits of the classic ‘cheese plant’ we all know and love.

How to care for Monstera Thai Constellation

  • Lighting: Bright, indirect light. Avoid intense direct sun as this will scorch the leaves. Great under grow lights, or near an East or West facing window.
  • Watering: Water when soil is about halfway dry. The roots can easily rot when watered too frequently.
  • Humidity: Anything above 60% will help you grow a bigger and healthier plant. Avoid placing near radiators where air is dry.
  • Temperature: 18-25°C is best. Anything below 10°C will damage the plant. Avoid placing near draughts where temperature can fluctuate.
  • Soil Preference: To support their thick roots, and humidity loving nature, we recommend a chunky, airy mix like the Monstera & Philodendron mix.
  • Good to Know: The variegation on the leaves is stable, meaning it won't revert back to green. However, more light means high chances of more cream and mint on the leaves.
