The Peperomia Caperata 'Cayenne' is a compact, easy care and pet safe plant, perfect for those who love colour. The pointed oval, green leaves are brushed with shimmery pink and purple hues, making the plant shine with iridescence.

Peperomias are semi-succulent, which makes them a good choice for forgetful waterers. However, they are still used to tropical climates, growing under the canopy in humid forests, and should not be treated like regular succulents. With the 'Cayenne', and most other Peperomias, medium humidity, bright, indirect light and watering only when the top soil is completely dry, will keep them happy.

This variety is native to South America.

Growing no taller than 20cm, this Peperomia is perfect for small windowsills, tabletops and short shelves. The thick, glossy leaves are sure to make an impact, and if you're looking to add more colour to your plant collection, why not start with this petite and easy going Pep!

How to care for Peperomia Caperata 'Cayenne'

  • Lighting: Bright indirect light. Avoid direct sun will scorch leaves. North or East facing windows are best.
  • Watering: Water when a third of top soil is completely dry. Never let pot dry out completely or sit dry for too long.
  • Humidity: 50-60% suits best. Happy in greenhouse conditions.
  • Temperature: 18-26°C is best. Avoid temperatures dropping below 12°C.
  • Soil Preference: A balance of well-draining components and moisture retentive substrates. We recommend the Syngonium mix.
  • Good to Know: Water sat at the base of the plant can quickly cause rot. Bottom watering can help prevent this.

It’s our way of ensuring that every plant you bring home is happy, healthy, and will continue to be that way for years to come.
