Pilea Glaucophylla 'Greyzy'
The 'Greyzy' is one of our favourites at the shop, due to the colour palette, dainty growth structure and how well it works in terrariums. If you like petite and whimsical plants, then this Pilea is definitely one to add to your collection.
From its semi-succulent, rhubarb-coloured stem, grow tiny, flat leaves which appear silver or blue. Spreading out in clusters, when grown indoors, this plant can quickly hide the pot underneath it completely, almost appearing like a dense shrub of blue-silver coins.
In the wild, they are found growing in the shaded understory of rainforests in South America. This creeping Pilea is not a fan of direct sun, and prefers dappled light with some ambient humidity. You don't need to boost the humidity specifically for this plant, but due to its thin leaves and fragile growth structure, we recommend keeping it away from heaters, radiators or draughts. The 'Greyzy' enjoys consistent moisture, but waterlogged soil will easily lead to rot as both the leaves and the roots are thin and fragile.
